Technovore
Technovore is an artificially intelligent virus made by Tony Stark that is made up of nanobots and is created to consume technology into itself.
History
Tony Stark created the Technovore virus in Seeing Red to consume the data on the Iron Man and Crimson Dynamo armors in Project Pegasus's systems. The virus was supposed to burn itself out once it has consumed all the data, but to preserve itself, it uploaded into the nanobots and says only one word, "Consume".
In Technovore, It has formed the nanotechnology into a body and is running loose in the Project Pegasus complex, assimilating whatever technology it can get its hands on. Rhodey goes into the Pegasus facility to check out a disturbance only to run into Technovore. When it gets ahold of Rhodey's earpiece, it calls Tony so it can absorb the Iron Man armor. After Anton Harchov who was hiding inside the building fled, Iron Man arrives. After exhausting every option Tony activates the armor's self-destruct, and abandon the armor and run for it. The explosion destroys Technovore. Meanwhile somewhere in Russia, Anton Harchov leaves a plane. But unknown to him, a microscopic cell of Technovore's nanomite body still remains inside the fabric of his coat.
Abilities
- Assimilation: Technovore can consume technology into itself and gain its properties like the communication abilities of a hand's free cell phone or the repulsor technology of an Iron Man gauntlet.
- Adaption: It has been shown to be able to develop a resistance to weapons the more they're used against it.
- Nanomite Body: Its body is made entirely of nanobots. It can disassemble itself into a stream of nanites, enabling it to traverse through small places. His personality can exist in even the smallest part of him and is hinted to have regenerative capabilities.
