Maria Stark was Tony Stark's mother and beloved wife of Howard Stark. Her maiden name is unknown, as is her middle name.
History
Maria Stark died of unknown causes when Tony was still a child; likely when Tony was four or five years old. Pepper Potts states that Tony was privately tutored after Maria died, and says that Tony "never went to school before" attending the Tomorrow Academy, implying that Maria may have died before Tony entered elementary school.
In Iron Monger Lives, Madame Masque impersonated her briefly in attempt to mess with Tony's head.
According to her husband Howard Stark, she is where Tony gets his tendency toward secrecy.
