Mallen
Mallen is an ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. He is now a powerful superhuman after injecting the Extremis serum into his body.
Overview[]
Mallen used to be a highly decorated agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. but was dishonorably discharged for his intense dementia. Namely, his aggressive behavior as proven when he assaulted Agent Dugan for unknown reasons. Out of spite, he stole their experimental super-soldier serum named Extremis and swore revenge against General Fury. He injected himself with it and was encased in a black chrysalis. When he emerged from it, Mallen was drastically warped on the genetic level, making him virtually invincible. He started assaulting S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and terrorized the city, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. Iron Man suited up to stop him, but Mallen was too strong and mercilessly beat him to near-death. Mallen was driven off by S.H.I.E.L.D. air vehicles who took Iron Man back to the Helicarrier for medical treatment just in time.
Mallen started having hallucinations about the memories of Nick Fury firing him. He went on another rampage and was confronted by Black Widow, Nick Fury, and about four Mandroids, all of whom were easily beaten by Mallen. He almost killed Fury, but Iron Man (who has taken a drop of the Extremis serum) saved him and is back for a rematch. Iron Man's new enhanced reaction time and cyberpathic connection to all machines allowed him to handle himself better against Mallen. Iron Man used his new powers to locate a ground wire directly beneath them and used it to electrocute him into a coma, where he was then hospitalized by S.H.I.E.L.D.
Abilities[]
After taking the Extremis drug, his biology was enhanced dramatically and tremendously, making him totally superhuman and gaining the following abilities:
- Superhuman Strength: Extremis modified his body and enhanced his physical strength, making him able to toss cars and people as well as smash a brick wall with a single punch with relative ease.
- Enhanced Speed: He is also incredibly fast and agile, able to run at really fast speeds. Mallen could enhance his speed through his electricity.
- Extreme Durability: Extremis's gift of enhanced endurance makes him almost completely invulnerable, enabling him to shrug off bullets and attacks from Iron Man.
- Accelerated Healing: Mallen has accelerated healing abilities. An example if his accelerated healing is him being able to heal his broken neck seconds after Black Widow snapped it.
- Claw Pincers: While not actually used in combat, Mallan has been implied to have been enhanced with black claws that rival those of what Black Panther's ceremonial battlesuit is equipped with.
- Electrokinesis: Mallen can emit and project destructive lightning arcs strong enough to damage surrounding city blocks, knock back cars and S.H.I.E.L.D. air vehicles. He could even focus them into shock blast rays for a more concentrated attack.
- Fire Breath: He can generate intense heat and flame either by exhaling flares of it or emitting focused beams from his hands and mouth.
Weaknesses[]
- Degraded Intellect: The Extremis serum affected his mind, giving him frequent hallucinations and worsening his unstable mentality.
- High Voltage: Mallan might be able to generate intense power surges, but he is vulnerable to just as much at direct exposure, as proven when a ground line contained enough to zap him out cold and make him safe enough for SHIELD to take him back into custody.

- Nick Fury once threatened to "knock his (Mallen's) skull off of his shoulders". It's ironic because that is exactly how Iron Man stopped him in the comics. He was forced to blow his head off with his repulsors, killing him.
