Fin Fang Foom, also known as "The Sleeping Dragon" (沉睡的巨龍 or chénshuì de jù lóng) is an ancient Chinese dragon of myth and is the guardian of the fifth Makluan Ring.
History of Fin Fang Foom[]
When Tony and Gene activated the Test of Sacrifice, Fin Fang Foom was awoken and attacked them along with Pepper. Pepper tried to throw the Makluan Rings to him, but it didn't work. Tony planned to sacrifice himself to pass the test, but lucky for him, Rhodey in his War Machine armor arrived with his Iron Man suit. Iron Man and War Machine began fighting the dragon, to no avail. Gene let himself get eaten to pass the test and Fin Fang Foom stopped attacking. Inside the dragon, Gene found the Makluan Rings and the fifth one as well. Fin Fang Foom froze into solid ice and Gene escaped through its mouth.
Through unknown means, its statue reappeared where it was before inside the Temple of Sacrifice.

- Super Strength: Because of his massive size, he possesses immense strength.
- Flight: He can fly at supersonic speeds.
- Fire Breath: It can project streams of Makluan energy that resembles fire from its mouth.
- Extremely Durable: All of the attacks Iron Man and War Machine made didn't damage Fin Fang Foom at all.
- Regeneration: It can regenerate at a rapid rate.

- Fin Fang Foom is not an actual dragon; according to the comics, he is actually an alien who resembles a dragon. In fact, the Mandarin's rings are based on his race's technology. This idea would be used in the Makluan race seen in season two.
- His name translates to "He Whose Limbs Shatter Mountains and Whose Back Scrapes the Sun."
