Dreadknights
The Dreadknights are the guardians of the Temple of Wisdom. They are an army of living stone warriors armed with ancient weapons such as swords and axes. Defeating them individually is easy since they can be smashed to rubble with a powerful strike. However, there are hundreds, if not thousands, inside the temple, which will prove fatally overwhelming if the test is not passed The Dreadknights were most likely based on the Terracotta Army, a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the very first ruler of China.
History[]
Tony, Rhodey, Pepper, and Gene investigated a Makluan temple in Jersey. They found a book and a sword on two separate pedestals. Gene accidentally activated the test by reading the Chinese word for "begin" in the book. They were separated and had to fight off the Dreadknights as Iron Man and the Mandarin. Iron Man managed to figure out that the word to pass the test was on the sword and used his armor's onboard computer system to translate the word, which was "end". The Dreadknights stopped and went back to their inert state.
